Ortica- nettles. Never would I have ever learned this word if it weren't for a discussion on nettle pasta. Did you know they can make pasta with nettles?
Cavalletto- literally means horse, or sawhorse but it means the kickstand of the motorino. Not to be confused with the word stampelle, which means crutches.
Gelato Flavor of the Month
October: cocco Coconut ice cream, who knew? The texture of this nutty ice cream is nothing like a Bounty or other coconut candy bar. It is smooth and nutty and a little bit of a crunch. I enjoy it paired with either pistacchio or a dark chocolate, cioccolato fondente; it will leave you scooping up even the melted bit at the bottom with your cucchiaino, your little spoon.
Spiaggia di Fornillo is how I think of Positano. Laid back, fun, imperfect and absolutely stunning.
